Thanks for information on server action.
we are trying to impelemet openerp for our company for that we require small guidance from you.
I am trying to modify the " work order " workflow & " mrp operation" process.
I have created the one more state in " mrp.production.workcenter.line" workflow. Between state " stratworking " & " done" of workflow the new state we have added ie "qc" for that i have created one more button also ie " button_qc".

To make it workable i want to set the server action for state "qc" please help me out
and tell the server action settings for state "qc"

The record is created and the following error is showned:

"AssertionError: You used a NULL action in a workflow, use dummy node instead."

If "Python code" (activity "End") is filled with something like "{}", then, no error is showned.

In both cases, no report is showned.

To be frank i never got the open erp internal email system properly working with a recent email service. So I wrote my own which is fully supported in Server Actions. Hi Thomas thanks a lot for the tutoriel it's very instructive.
I have one question please about server action
I am trying to made an action that send email after one step of a workflow is done.
So i followed the tutoriel.
1 create the server action
2 Choose Email and fill the required fields
3 configure the openerp-server
the problem is after validating the step of the workflow
I have this (Error, please specify server option --smtp-from !)
I am sorry for being long thanks a lot

Scheduled Actions are similar to cron jobs.
You can execute a method in any object obeying certain rules like when to execute, how many times to execute etc.
An example is poweremail which periodically keeps downloading email and its written as a scheduler.
Another example is MRP which calculates procurement based on existing stock, production orders etc every day.

I'm trying to implement a trigger to automatically confirm a sale order (it comes from another system, so it is yet confirmed). I think I need to attach this server action to draft state of the sale order. The problem is that it doesn't appear the order_confirm action in trigger name dropdown list. Reading the source code i've found a bug in the query that retrieves the signals (I reported it in launchpad).

After changing the query order_confirm signal appeared. The question is: what field should I enter in "Trigger on" field? Sale Object doesn't have a visible id field ...
